Lynne Turner

I’m drawn to complex shapes, detail, texture, and color. After receiving an MFA in 1970, I had a professional career as a ceramics teacher and artist making and exhibiting slip cast porcelain nationally and internationally. Since 2007 I have combined photography and the computer to make art on paper. My work has always originated in the natural world. My porcelain began with casts of real fruits, vegetables, and bamboo. My prints begin with photos taken on walks around Emeryville and other locations. I manipulate, enhance, and modify elements within the image to create my prints. Some are transformations of a single photo, and others combine selections from multiple photos. My work reflects the beauty hidden in the natural world.
